Predators review

Hello public! Its Nevermore here to present you my first written review here on the Screen Team Blog! Isn’t that just epic? Yea i didn’t think so either ha-ha.  Anyways i’m going to be reviewing a pretty bad-ass movie. I hope you guys like the review!

Movie: Predators

Starring: Adrien Brody, Laurence Fishburne, Topher Grace, Alice Braga, and more

Directed by: Nimrod Antal

Plot Summery: 8 Human beings, all with violent monstrous pasts, are dropped onto an unknown planet thats being used as a game reserve by one of the most iconic movie monsters. Can you guess who those monsters are? If you can’t i lost all faith in you have any form of an I.Q. ha-ha. The humans have to try and stick together in order to survive the planet or end as another trophy on the Predator’s mantel.

Review (SPOILER WARNING): So I’ve personally always liked the Predators more then the Aliens. probably because I’ve never seen any of the Alien movies besides the crappy Alien vs. Predator movies. I loved how they were a hunting based alien race. i never saw the first Predator movie, with the Govna of California, until i was like 16 or 17. I really liked it when i did though. i never saw the sequel, but i never heard anything good about it. Plus, as mentioned, i hated AVP, but this new movie i had alot of fun in. Very much a worthy sequel to the original.

I remember seeing the original, and loving how bad-ass the Predators where. Then i saw AVP, and i feel like the filmmakers removed a good amount of the Predators BA-ness. Now Robert Rodriguez and Nimrod Antal just picked up all the BA-ness and gave it back to the Predators……yea ha-ha. What i enjoyed most about this movie was the new Predators introduced in this movie. apparently there is this higher class of Predator that hunts the lower.

believe it or not the lower class of Predator is the one we know, and love so much. The actors were all good across the board. My favorite was the death row prisoner. he almost stole the show for me with his black comedy. One thing that was surprising was how well Brody did as an Action star. I really liked the character he played.

I was kind of disappointed with how small Fishburne’s part was. I mean they advertised that he was in the movie like he was a main Actor, but he only had one whole scene then BAM he exploded.   Though the twists, if you’d call them that, are pretty obvious the executions of them are well done. The whole movie Topher Grace seemed like he didn’t belong until the end when he revealed that he is in fact a Serial Killer. I gotta say of all the times I’ve seen Grace in a movie this performance was the most convincing.

The look of the planet was so so for me. i mean it makes sense that it looks like it does, but i’d have figured something a little more….Alien, and not so much….. Hawaii ha-ha. One thing i thought was really cool was how they had more then just humans play as targets for the predators. There is one scene in fact were the group is attacked by an Alien who was dropped on the planet just like them.  In the end i really enjoyed this movie, not alot of substance, but thats made up for by how bad-ass this sequel is.

Final Rating: 3.5 spine and skull trophies out of 5
